 Woman dies during Sri Pada Vandana...


A 79-year-old woman who came from Monaragala to worship Sripada died in the early hours of the 21st, Nallathanniya Police Station Chief Inspector E. S. Mr. Weerasekera says.

Commenting further on this, Mr. Weerasekera said that a pilgrim group from Monaragala area was on its way to Sripada Mallwa along Nallathanniya road and a woman of that pilgrim group suddenly fell ill at 1.00 am on the 21st in Ratu Ambalam area. The woman was taken from Ratu Ambalam area to Nallathanniya and taken to the Maskeliya Regional Hospital for treatment and the woman died on the 21st at 4.00 am.

79 years old resident of Monaragala K. Mr. Weerasekera further said that Somavathi died in this way and the bodies of those who died have been kept at the Maskeliya Regional Hospital for post-mortem examination.
